INGREDIENTS
BAO BUN TACOS
- 3 cups of all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup of warm water
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add 3 cups of All purpose flour to a large bowl
- Add 3 tablespoons sugar
- Add 2 1/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- Add 2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Mix all dry ingredients together
- Add 1 cup of warm water to dry mix
- mix everything together by hand or with a dough mixer
- Once everything is incorporated add 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- Kneed the dough for 5 minutes on a floured counter top and form into a ball
- Put dough ball back into bowl and apply olive oil or avocado oil on the surface of the dough ball
- Cover and allow to rise for one hour
- Remove dough from bowl and roll dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness
- Use a ring cutter or a glass that is around 3 inch diameter to cut out circles for the bao buns
- apply olive oil or avocado oil to top surface of each cut out
- fold in half and roll over bun gently to flatten
- For steaming you can use a bamboo steamer, electric steamer or even a rice cooker that has steamer option
- Steam buns for 15 minutes making sure to space them out in the steamer
INGREDIENTS
ASIAN BANG KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN
- 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup corn starch
- Blazing Star Beef Rub
- Blazing Star Asian Bang Sauce
- cucumbers
INSTRUCTIONS
- Slice up chicken thighs into small strips
- Season chicken strips thoroughly with Blazing Star Beef Rub
- Add 1 cup corn starch to a bowl
- Put chicken strips in bowl of corn starch and coat on all sides
- Heat up cooking oil to 350-375 degrees
- Deep fry chicken strips for 3-5 minutes until golden brown
- Add chicken strips to a bowl and add Asian Bang Sauce to coat the outside
ASSEMBLY
- Open up Bao Buns being careful not to separate them
- Add Asian Bangs sauce to bottom side of bao bun
- Add 3 thin slices of cucumber
- Add 1-2 Sauced chicken strips to bao bun
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top
